There is a comparison chart on the Corel site. Here's the address:
http://www.corel.com/content/pdf/psps/psp9orstudio.pdf
I use PSP Studio and have not run into any roadblocks yet. All the tutorials I've found for PSP 8 and 9 have worked for PSP Studio. I think I will buy the full version 10 when I can because I assume I will grow and will eventually find the need for a higher level. I am certainly happy with the software. It does need a lot of memory, but I think any graphics software does. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend PSP Studio.

Wow I always assumed that there were bigger and more differences between those programs.
I always heard the Studio was to PSP like PSE3 is to PS. (just a baby part of the program!)

However I wouldn't give up the digital camera noise reduction filter at all, it is worth it.
And being able to make and save my own shapes is a plus also!!

Yeah.. welcome to corel land... can't wait to see what they do to the new version.. I've already made the leap to PSCS2.. I'll still use PSP - but I'll stick with version 8 or 9. Hopefully I'm wrong.. but corel just destroyed wordperfect so I'm not looking forward to their ownership of PSP.

So Pesto, how do you find the switch going from PSP8 or 9 to PSCS2?
Well hopefully the new people in charge at Corel are more intuned and paying close attention to what their customers want then the old corel people were!!
So far most everything has actually gone very smooth with corel buying out Jasc, none of the phasing it out has happened, the sky hasn't fallen in on PSP (yet and hopefully never) but my vote is that corel will take care of this program and keep improving it!!
I just hope that they don't stick us with a price tag like PSCS2 has in the future either!
I guess we will have to wait and see the outcome on the new version when those of us who ordered it already, get it and play with it for a while. From what I have read, a lot of the old PSP team members were and are in on developing and creating PSPX....!!
The only thing I would mention is from what I hear, phone support is now a paid service whereas before it was free, I guess, but you know what? I never in over 10 years have had to call JASC and ask them how to make the program work or run!! So to me this isn't a big issue either!!

Its a bit of steep learning curve.. and some of the things you took for granted in PSP are just different in PSCS2. I have to admit that I am totally in love with the layer properties and ease at which you can add the gradients and drop shadows on a layer... so cool.

I just wish PSP stayed the simple, quick and unbloated product it was in PSP 7... once 8 came out.. well - it got a bit complicated and slow. I've been using PSP since it's early release (in fact, I still have the older versions!) and it really just seems a bit too much. Like PSCS2... they packed so much stuff in it.. that its just overwhelming and complex. The bridge feature is practically a seperate application in itself!

Anyway.. I too hope corel doesn't mess things up. From what I hear.. old time users are not happy with the closed beta of PSP X (Jasc used to have open beta).. lets hope the product doesn't get even slower and bulkier....!
