Paint Shop Pro X (new program) ?

Just received an email from Corel about the new Paint Shop Pro X. After reading it, wasn't sure exactly what it was. Guess I'll have to surf the web tonight and figure out what is going on. Well, they have a special offer on it for $59.00, whatever it is. It says the top 10 reasons to upgade are easier to get professional looking results, smartest way to fix photos, makes you look better than ever, up to 50% faster, filled with advanced photo tools, one steop red-eye removal, includes photo album 6, packed with video tutorials, includes a completed raw workflow package free, all new special effects. Not sure if it's an upgrade from PS P 9 or what. Any one a betta tester or know anything about it?

I haven't heard anything about it, but now I'm curious! I love PSP 9 though so I don't know if I'd upgrade

I agree. I love 9 also. Best one so far. I've been searching the web, but not able to locate a software review or a feature comparison. One has got to be somewhere. Here is the info:

WoooooooooooooooW!!! This looks fabulous! I'm really liking the instant makeover tools for teeth and zits. And high pass sharpening too! I like that it's coming with PA6. I've been having a terible time upgrading my version, so I think I'll get the boxed kit and chuck version 5.

OMG! Did you SEE the new layers palette??!! Now it has bitty pictures so you know what's on each layer!!! (Yes, I'm looking at the site and typing at the same time. lol!)

The preorder also comes with 2 hours of lynda.com videos. I wonder if they are worth if for semi-advanced users like me?

I just told my 15 year old DD about the new upgrade, and she agreed to split the cost wth me. She uses PSP to make fan art. I'm hoping that one day she'll want to digiscrap too.

It also states that it is 50% faster then pervious version!! You'll be happy to know that NEW Paint Shop Pro X has a 30% faster startup time, the ability to work faster on large photos, and near-instant undo and redo.
I still hope that people read and understand the system requirements that it takes to run PSPX and we stop seeing people upset because PSP is SLOW on their systems!!
That like asking an old model T to keep up on the super-highways going 80mph!!

I can't wait for a few people to get this and tell us how it goes!!
I agree the little photo's on the layers is going to be so COOL!!!

Yes, read about the start up time. I don't have a problem with that, but sounds like some people do. Agree with your model T comment though. I just emailed Corel asking them if they had any additional information on it other than what was in the email or the link they gave me. I didn't get on the Corel PSP users group site to check and see if anyone knew anything. Some one out there has got to know more than me. Bugs me that I can't find anything else on the internet about it. There have been a bunch of books on Amazon.com on it, that aren't released yet - somewhere out there has got to know more.....can't wait to figure out if I need to buy this!!!

It is a very hot topic at the corel newsgroups..very interesting reading!!
If you can go check it out, that is where many of the people in the "know" know about what is going on!!

Just found out that there also is a promotional code to enter and get an additional 10% off making it around $53.00.
It doesn't ship until September however!!
http://tinyurl.com/ap3rh checkout this link if you haven't already!!

Now my delima is do I wait until people tell me about it, and if it is worth the newer PSPX, or do I buy it now for my BD present to myself and get it for a better price!!! Or like what happened to me when I bought PSP9 for $100.00 something and then have it go down to around $30.00 within about 6 months!!!! Desicions, desicions!!!!.....??????

Well, I finally got on the newsgroup site. Kind of hard to do some of that kind of thing at work. Found this interesting:
Recommended System Requirements

1.0GHz processor or faster
Microsoft ® Windows ® XP
512 MB of RAM
500 MB of free hard disk space
1024 x 768 resolution display, 32-bit color display

I'm fine with the requirements, but talking about Model T's....there are probably a lot of people that haven't made it to XP yet, let alone a 1.0GH processor.

Well, at least it sounds like it is in fact PSP 10, they must have just decided to use a roman numerial. Not sure of the additional 10% off though, someone said that was an expired code for Wordperfect or something. Still $59.00 isn't bad. I've never paid full price for any of my versions...always try to get it on sale with rebates and such. Well, off to read more about this.....cool, cool, cool!!
