How do I save with PSP?

Not just with DS . . .

I think I am doing something wrong but I can't figure it out. Like if I want to make a transparent gif it seems the quality of the picture I am trying to save degrades immensely. I don't know why.

What settings am I needing to keep this from happening? This also occurs with the JPG and the PNG.

For a little background, we rescently had a hacker crash our computer and we had to reinstall a lot of software PSP being one of them, so I don't know what my settings were because I didn't havethis problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

saving

Well it would depend on how using. If you want a background save as a jpeg not a gif. You have a tab on the jpeg wizard to set the umm resolution I think it is called. You want to have it about 10-15.

For transparent images you want to save as a PNG particularly if using for scrapbooking and making elements.

When I make my kits I save first as a psp image (just click save on file menu) so I can go back and change anything with my layers. Then I save elements as PNG's and everything else as a jpeg. Some people save everything three times as a PSP, PNG , JPEG on everything.

If you are saving layouts to POST on web you want to save as a jpeg but resize your layout so when you save as a jpeg it is under the requirements for the site (usually 100 is good for all the websites).

Also when saving scrap pages you want the DPI to be at 300 if printing. But if posting when you resize it you can make it at 72 dpi for web quality and smaller file size.

HTH,
Tina

You can also just save transparent items as GIF files... and - 300dpi is a bit high for most digital images... the recommended number is usually 200. For typeset printing or magazine submission, you can use 300... anything for home printing or walmart above 200 is just taking up extra space and a bit overkill.
