Thanks for confirming my suspicions about this deforming an image like we all read about!!

I figured in trying to take a 72 image and just simply make it a 300 image I would have gotten that quick and simple fix when I was trying to get bigger and better images from my daughters graduation photo's!!!
I know one post had 800x800 pixels and then one had 8x8cm..I was just wishin' and hopin'!!

rescrapping...

Ohh the thought of rescrapping makes my heart break for you....

8cm.. is only a few inches... and as the others have said.. you will never stretch them to a 10 inch layout. given the .dpi... you will probably get away with making them 250dpi..and about 5 cm square..and get a reasonable quality print...Instead...

why not make a mini scrap book?
or frame them with larger then usual matt boards...
see - http://www.corayphoto.com/misc/prestips.html

or frame them using small frames that you can buy with magnets on the back and put them on the fridge? (if you are in Aust.. Target had a 10pack of perspex frames with magnets attached (various sizes) for about $10

Best of luck!

Lanne

hehe oh so you noticed that also!! In the beginning I burnt/scorced more food in the first few months of scrapbooking, then I had in all 22 years of cooking!!

You might want to make sure you set your default resolution to 300 ppi so it is always at 300 for the future. File>preferences>General Program Preferences>Units-default resolution 300 dpi..... You might want to review the other program defaults while you are there in case you want to change anything else--- like not showing the splash screen when you open PSP or not asking if you want to delete the clipboard contents upon exiting....whatever....

Also when you open a new canvas you can set it there.

Have fun.

What I have done with success in the past is to take some photos that were 72ppi, convert them to 300ppi and then use the deform tool to resize (enlarge) with nice results....I don't know how far you can get with deforming from 8cm after converting to 300ppi though......

Just thought I would share this trick I use when friends send me pics to scrap but don't know or understand the first thing about "high res" pics......mnay of them use that Kodak Ofoto to put their pics in albums and share with family and friends....from there I convert the pics to 300ppi and then resize accordingly and use in my LO, all of which I print and they look great!

Jayne

EDIT: The pics from Ofoto are at 150dpi....just double checked that.
