PSP 9 deform tool not working

Hello!

I am having a problem with my PSP 9. The deform tool is not working right. When I first started the LO it was working then mid way though it just greys out and you can not click on it anymore. Then I shut down PSP and opened it up again.. then I open the LO again and click on the element and then click on the deform tool it was all messed up.

What should I do? Should I email them? Should I just un-install & reinstall?

Has anyone else had this problem?

This has happen before since I reformatted my computer and loaded PSP 9 on. But I never had the problem before that.

Thanks!
Candice

The deform tool only works on raster layers...be sure you're not trying to use it on a vector layer/shape.

Candiflip,

Try clicking on the deselect button just in case you have an almost invisible part selected by mistake somewhere. This happened to me so many times when I was learning PSP that I was ready to pull my hair out.

If you have accidentally selected something when you "deselect", the deform tool immediately becomes available again.

HTH,

Jules

Well I Uninstalled and Reinstalled the PSP 9.. and then opened this LO in it.. and still it will not let me use the deform tool... BUT I tested another LO in it and it will let me use the deform too. Odd...

The last thing I used in this LO was some AlphaDoodle Alpha's.. Could that of caused this?

Is it certian elements that cuase this to happen?

It will not let me deform ANY layer.

Thanks!!

Hi,

I don't have Alpha Doodles so I don't know if they are individual letters or if you have to select them one by one.

If you do have to select them, then it is possible that when you have copied and pasted the letter you were working on that you have somehow clicked and made a selection on your layout. When I did this I couldn't see the selection because it was so small - try hitting deselect and post back if you still can't get it to work.

It isn't that it doesn't just let me not deform the alpha.. It does NOT let me deform ANYTHING in the LO after I added the alpha.

This has happen before when working with LO's .. after adding a certian element it does this.

I have the AlphaDoodles CD and have not had a problem like this. Doesn't like it's AlphaDoodles. But have you tried deleting the AlphaDoodle layers then seeing if the deform tool works?

I guess this is a process of elimination. Wish I could help.

I am relatively new to PSP as well but if the problem appears to be after you downloaded the alpha..could you maybe delete that layer so the LO is back to where you know it was working and see if that does the trick just in case there is something that maybe is not visable . Just a suggestion...sorry your having so much trouble with it.
