Hi,
I would use plug-ins for this effect:
Check out these different ones,
Flaming Pear
Eye Candy
Filters Unlimited

For the flaming Pear one I know you can find presets that you can download from the internet by doing a search. I am running out of time this morning and need to get back to the real world and work today!!

If you're familar with plug-ins you should get some good results!!

Tracey
PS. hehe you should upgrade to PSP9, but remember I never used 8 so I have no idea of the differences!!! LOL Thank you for your kind words!!

Lisa, you can also try different colored drop shadows applied 2-3 or more times until it appears to glow from the edges. Make sure your horizontal and vertical settings are set to 0, use an opacity of 50-60 and blur at around 10. Here's an example:

Don't know if that's what you were looking for, but it's kind of a neat effect anyway. I also agree with the others, filters is the way to go...I LOVE my Super Blade Pro!!

Here is a great site that has examples of several glowing text items. Look under PSP 9 & 8 tuts. Actually enjoyed several of the tuts on this site. Some really neat stuff on it.
