Drop shadow not working

Has anyone had any trouble with the drop shadow not working? It was working fine, but for some reason it's not now. Has this happened to anyone else?

If so, what did you do to get it to work again?

(I'm using PSP9 and Windows XP)

Blessings,
Angie

What exactly is "Not" happening and how are you doing it?
It has to be a setting in your dialog box somewhere, or maybe the selection that you have could be under another layer and that is why you do not see what is happening with your drop shadow.
If you have a lot of layers, try hiding all of them except the one you want to apply the drop shadow to and see if that works.
I doubt that the drop shadow effect is broken..hehehe
Let us know how it goes...

Hey Tracey! (Sorry I've been calling you Hayley.........WHOOPS!)

I have the dialog box up and the preview button locked. I've even put in 100 for the vertical and horizontal offsets just to see if I could even see ANYthing. Nada. I also have it zoomedout so I can see the whole thing.........nada.

Opacity is 10, blur is 5.00, color is black (and the colors on the page are light.)

I SURE I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what on earth it could be.

Blessings,
Angie

Have you double checked to make sure you are applying the drop shadow to the layer of the element you are trying to apply it to and not a background layer instead perhaps?

No, it's the right layer. (Good idea though) I have the preview box up....(the one that shows you what it looks like before you say OK?) and it's the little brad. I've tried other elements as well, nada.

I even reinstalled the software just now. I'm not doing SOMETHING right. Just wish I could figure out what it is. Let me try a brand new LO.........just to see if maybe it doesn't like the one I'm working on. (Everyone's a critic. LOL!!!)

Anyone ever have THAT problem? Where it worked on ONE lo but not ANOTHER?

That's just too funny.

That's really strange that the drop shadow isn't working on one layout but works on another. I wonder if the file of the first layout is somehow corrupted. Just a thought.

<DING! DING! DING!>

WARNING! WARNING!

Idiot Alert! Everyone STAND CLEAR!!

Figured out what the problem was. I was thinking that 100% opacity would be TOTALLY CLEAR. IF that had been the case, the 5% would have been very dark and easy to see. But 100% is totally DARK.

OK.....problem solved. (DUH!!!!)
