Saving png format things

I have a question for anyone who can answer, Even thought this might sound silly..

Ok I have made myself a bunh of scrapbook background pages, buttons and such to use later.

I am saving them to floopt disk (tryin to save my cds)
anyways my backgrounds are set to be page size 8 x 10
The trouble is that by saving them that way I am only able to get 8 pages per floopy, So my question is How can i compress them in order to get more sheets/ images per floppy? for the background paper that is.

Do you have a cd burner? A cd will hold way more than a floppy disk. Alternatively you could make your background as a seamless tile and then just tile it when you want to use it. That would reduce the file size significantly.

Kim yes hun I do have a burner, But was wanting to save cds for more important files such as finshed scrapbooks,

the seamless tile is a good idea about how big should i make the tile in size? So that i still keep a decint patern image.

I am not good at making seamless tiles, Oh BTY I am working with psp7. But I want my files to beable to be used by others that work with other programs.

Are you a member of computerscrapping elements2 yahoo group? You can share them there, submit them here, upload them to a yahoo briefcase or zip them and post them to your own webpage.

Oh, when I make seamless tiles I usually make them about 2" square or 600 x 600 pixels at 300dpi. Some tutorials I've read make them 200 or 300 square but I find that is too small. It really depends on the pattern and how big or small you want the repeats to be.

Kim, have you priced CD-R's? You can get them very cheap. Create a folder for the items you want to burn. Set your limit to how many kb's that file can be. Then when that folder gets to that mark, burn them on a CD-R.

Whenever you actually want to retrieve those files you'll be so thankful you put them on CD's.

Another helpful tip:
I collect those junk internet service cd cases. The hard plastic kind with the sleeve inside clear plastic. I put my CD's in them and use PSE to create an index print of every file in the CD. I put that under the clear plastic.
