Question Upload photo section accept animated gifs?

I was wondering if there was a way that you all could set it up so that the upload photo section will accept animated gifs? Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I have only been able to upload a static jpeg and then place the animated gif in the description section of the post, like this: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...92&ppuser=7578

I would love it if I could just upload the animated gif itself, but maybe I am the only one who wants this feature. Plus I don't know if what I am asking is really difficult to do. If it is, then nevermind.

Am sure you can as we have some animated LO's which are actually animated gifs. Is the file size too large? I have done an animated gif in the description before. but for some reason right now it is not showimg up. Am getting that nasty blank image with an X in it.

you can upload gif's to the gallery.. you just need to make sure that they are within the 125k size limit - I had to shrink mine way down to get it within the size limit. Some have done a static jpg for the main picture then in the comments put in the animated one using html code via photobucket (does that make sense?)
