Question How can I blur the edges of my photo in PS7?

Hi Everyone!

I am working on some graphics for my son's website, and want to give it a little taste of a scrapbook.

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to blur the edges of a photo? I have a nice photo of him sleeping, and want to blur the edges but can't figure out how!

Thanks in advanced!

use your lasso tool outline the area that you want to blur....then use your gaussian blur filter.

I select the photo (cntrl + click on the layer it's on, assuming it is on it's own layer), then SELECT>FEATHER, choose an appropriate amount, based on the res of your file, inverse the selection and hit delete. It fades aways the edges in a soft feathery edge. You can continue to hit delete with that same selection and it will soften the edges more each time. Great way to do a soft oval with edges that fade away. Of course, this may not be what you mean by blur, but it's how I do it.
