Question Comments Translated?

So I have a feeling that this is a stupid question b/c I am sure the answer is yes, but when we leave comments for members in non-English speaking countries, are the comments translated into their native language? If yes, does the translation still work if we use all caps (ex: I LOVE your layout) or extended the word (ex: I LLLOOOOVVVEEEE your layout)?

i'm thinking the comments aren't translated. would be cool for the non-english scrappers if they were though.

Shucks. I was really hoping they were. I hope everyone reads English then.

Many countries learn English now days along side their native language, and I'd venture to say those scrappers posting here, even if they don't understand everything, probably get the gist of what you're commenting.

You can also use a translator sight like babelfish (or google for one) where you can type in a sentence and it will translate to the language you choose. You could then paste the translation into the comment

I'm from a non-English speaking country. Denmark. But I learned English at scool - back in the 50ties - I'm 64 - and I'm lucky that I had English at school - it was not common at that time. Today children have English at school from about 4. grade - correct me someone if I'm wrong.
I personally would never join a forum if I couldn't read the most simple things written - what fun would it be? There is a lot of sentences, phrases and words I do not understand - but I have a good digital dictionary - and I use it all the time. And I'm not afraid to ask if there is something I don't understand.
I've tried to use some of the free translators - they are not good. I would hate to depend on a free translator. And as for Google, you can only translate to/from very used languages - not Danish, Swedish etc.
If I don't understand a challenge, I stay away - unless it's a subject I really love.
And I stick to common words on my layouts, or I stick to Danish LOL
I hope that answers your question, Lysiane.
Hugs Ingerlise

It's me again - I forgot to mention what I find really hard - and very often do not understand:
All the shortenings!
Sometimes it's not important - like ROFL or LOL or PIMP - but sometimes it's nice to know what SAHM is - or the shortenings for all the American states - when a person introduce herself and write: I'm from wi - Well it's not important for me to know - but it sure would be nice. But then again - if it's important to me I'll ask.
And I would never participate in challenges including poems.
I think it's like being a guest in someones home - you have to accept the terms.
Have a nice day.
Ingerlise
