Oh, this is a great thread! I am coming up on my one year anniversary at SBB. Like Laurie, I consider SBB to be my digital community. It is my digital community because I have spent the time here to get to know people and learn the etiquette (hopefully!) It is a large time commitment to nurture my involvement in SBB as my "third place." I cannot imagine trying to do the same at two or more other boards. Soooo... perhaps the same is true for CT folks who are just trying to make their posting commitment. ? I can forgive that, because I know who the other devoted members of this board are, and who my friends are, and they are largely the same group.

I post comments as often as I can, spending more time when I have it, and sometimes reciprocally. It is good to let the people who encourage you know that you are here for them, too. I suppose my message is that I try to be understanding to the fact that we all lead busy lives and each of us "dials in" our level of participation, and it is all ok.
I do have a gripe with random CT posts, and that is the featured credits and attribution with a total absence of backstory. I am less interested in commenting on what I see as basically an add, than I would be if it was a shared glimpse into someone's art and story. That is just my deal, I really enjoy the personal connection that happens when I get to read the meaning behind a LO.
Thanks to everyone frankly posting on this.
Blessings,
Laurel
