Hi gang...

Those of you who are regulars in our chats we'd love your input on the chat rooms.... as many of you know - lately there has been some sort of issue with the chatroom (which is hosted on an off-site provider) and they seem to tell us that it's the user's ISP that is causing issues for people not being able to log in and stay logged in....

So, tonight we tested out a new chat room to ensure most could attend our chat and play with us!

WHICH DO YOU PREFER! Please also respond to the post and let us know if you have pros, cons, etc.

I'm a regular chatter I didn't like the new chatroom at all. I found it alot harder to read (not just the text colors ) and to follow along with what people were saying.

I also had issues with my browser when i had the chat open...if i was in another window (hello, an ie window, my pspx) and someone in chat entered the room or spoke, the browser with the chat automatically came up. Not sure if that is a problem just on my end or not, but it was really frustrating. I went ahead and ran a virus scan, deleted temp folders and cookies, and will try the chat again tomorrow (if it is still the new one) for the monday madness sketch crop.

even with the problems with logging in on the original chat room, i still liked it more.

Thanks so much Kelly; they are currently checking into the old chat room so that if we choose to continue using that one instead it will be fixed as well... I might have to agree with you- that the overall feel of the old chat room is just "easier" on both the eyes and as a user

I spent the first 30 minutes setting up my chat window so that I could see what was needed to be seen (please remember that I have poor eyesight). If you were able to change the default settings in the new chatroom to be similar to the old one, I can see it working a bit better. Default settings might include plain white background and black text for all, and then members can change to different colors as needed. I also increased the size of the font, which helped immediately to follow the conversations.

During the chats I attended, I also had my email program, CS2, hello, yahoo, MS Word and several browser windows open... I think I only got booted out once after I was idle for too many minutes.

I am not a regulat chatter, so I may not be the best one to give input but this chatroom seemed to make my laptop run slower and it froze up on me 2x during the chat. and so just based on that, I prefer the old one.

OLD all the way.. all my other programs ran so much slower with the new chat room and I had to restart the new chat about 4 times in the 7 hours I was there due to some script error

Old one all the way. I never had any problems with the old one, it was laid out better and much more user friendly.
