Problems With the Store

I am new to this site. I placed an order last night and it isn't turning out so well.

First, I was able to download the .zip file -- but it was corrupt. (Tried it 3X, even deleting temp files, cookies, etc. before each attempt.)

Sent an email to customer service. The response was that many people had problems with their links so I was sent another link. (Only my problem wasn't with the link--the file downloaded just fine, it was just corrupt.)

Now neither the new nor the old links work. Seems the "fix" made the problem worse!

Tried calling customer service and only got an answering machine.

This isn't going too well. I've ordered many, many downloads over the internet and never had this kind of trouble. Perhaps I've just been lucky!

mabbts, I think you've just been particularly unlucky with your timing - due to the sales at the weekend, the server has been overwhelmed, and Amy has posted that the host service is working on the issues

I know its hard to be patient (I'm jiggling up and down waiting to be able to access Tracy Ann's sale ), but Amy is VERY good about resolving customer service issues, and she WILL fix this for you

We came across a problem like this in October at a font crop.
All we had to do was update to the current version of winzip to unzip the files.
Maybe somebody else will remember the details?

I'm having troubles tonight too (bought a bunch of kits but none of the zip files appear to be valid). I'm really hoping I don't have to upgrade my winzip to access the downloads that I paid for -- I've got the paid winzip on my machine now and I don't want to "upgrade" to an unpaid version that makes me wait before opening my files.

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anything good happens...

mabbts, sorry about the frustration. i'm a repeat customer in the store, and until this sale weekend, never got a single "corrupt" file message. it must have been the crazy volume in the store during black friday. amy is very quick about responding to customer service inquiries (within 24 hours) and resolving any problems. please email amy again and give her at least 24 hours, i'm sure she'll solve the problem.

mizgnomer, here's a message for you, if the file says "corrupt," then either there was some problem during the download (which downloading a second (or (third, sometimes) time should fix the problem or sometimes during compression (which requires a fix on the other side that may take a little more time).

if the file says it's unrecognizable, or something like that, then that requires an upgrade to a higher version of winzip, which you can get a trial version via a google or yahoo search. hth!

Thanks for the winace reference. I tried it on my file. It still doesn't work but I had a more detailed error message: the file header is corrupt.
I'm sticking with the winace, I like the interface much better!
