Only fools rush in...

I am STILL working on a little tiny kit that I would like to share to say thank you to everyone here. Was merrily converting everything to jpegs and zipping until it hit between the eyes that jpegs were leaving white backgrounds on elements. Okay. Try again with pngs. And that seems to work fine; however, the file information on the pngs is that they are 72 dpi. They were created at 300 dpi. Their little sibling jpegs correctly report that they are 300 dpi. And when I pull the pngs into PSCS2 to check them out, the image size reports that they are 299 dpi (which is fine). But does anyone have a clue why they are being reported in Bridge as 72 dpi?

Bottom line, they are what they are which is 300 but I don't want my kit rejected because of this incorrect reporting (on second thoughts, that might be an easier rejection to take, lol!). Any techie gurus out there?

The pixel size probably is a lot bigger on your 72 dpi ones than on your ones that say 300 dpi(rounding up just because it is easier to explain. Example: You have a item that is 300 dpi and is 2 inches square. You pixel size for this item is 600 pixels by 600 pixels. If it is at 72 dpi the item would be 600 pixels by 600 pixels but would be 8.333 inches square. No change in quality. My PSP does this to my jpgs sometimes and I have no idea why but I just change the dpi back and all is good.
Hope this helps.
