how can I frame a photo?

What is the best why to make a singel line frame around a photo in ps6? I think this gives a more polished look. thanks for any help

Get the photo selected (cntrl+click on it's layer, assuming it's the only thing on the layer) and use the stroke command. I think it's under edit...one of the pull down menu's on the left hand side. You can set it for whatever pixel width you want. If you go wide though, choose "inside" as the option so you get nice square corners.

I just tried this last night, and it is great! Sure beats making a rectangle and filling it, only to realize it's not quite the right size or not even or just not right! And you can change the colors instantly to get just the right color too. Love it, love it, love it!

Forgot to add: After you get the item selected, create a new layer and then stroke the selection. That way you can place the "frame" above or below the picture and add separate shadowing if desired.
