red eyes

Hey Ali! Here's one way to do it:

http://www.escrappers.com./redeyes.html

"Red eye happens when the light from the flash reflects off the retina of the eyes." (out of my rebel manual) Usually a red-eye reducer will flash twice. Once to 'close' the pupil and then the second time with the pic.

Thanks, I thought it had something to do with flash b/c I noticed that I don't get it when I turn the flash off. I will check out escrappers. I must have overlooked it there, I really like his tutorials! Thanks again! -Alison

I can see how the technique at escrappers can come in handy. It was really easy and worked well on most of mine that needed to be doctored. But, I have this one photo of our nephew from christmas that is a close-up and the red-eye is very bad. Attached is the before and after of the me trying to fix it, but the pupils aren't red anymore but still not right. Anymore suggestions?

ROFLOL!

I'm sorry Ali- I know I shouldn't laugh, but that 2nd photo was just too funny!

One time I did a bday card with a dog on it that had a serious case of evil eye! I found another very similar photo and did a little cutting and pasting on the layer above and Viola! it turned out perfect. Of course that only works if you have a similar photo.

Hope you can fix it cuz he sure looks like a cutie!

Very good idea Laurie - as you say he is sooo cute! I once used this technique for shut eyes - a group at our grandsons christening all looking fabulous except one gentleman who got caught with his eyes shut! Fortunately there was another similar shot of him & after an eye transplant all was well. Good luck with it Alison! Meryl
