Saving brushes

I have created several sets of brushes. I would like to save them as a collection. How do I go about saving them into individual sets? I seen the save brushes option, but won't that save them all together? Suggestions please! -Ali

as far as I know, the only way to pare down a brush collection is to remove the brushes you don't want in the group and then save as a new collection.

So, I'd back up the collection. Then, delete the ones you don't want in group A. Save group A. Then, open the original collection and repeat the process for the other groups.

I wish wish WISH PS had a better brush management system (drag and drop would be so lovely). If anyone else has a tip i don't know about please PLEASE let us know!

i don't know about PS 7- this might be the same, that version does have the Preset Manager- but this does work in PS CS.

open the Preset Manager (Edit>Preset Manager). you should see the current brush set loaded. select the brushes that you want to save as a set (in PS CS, control+click, in PS 7 i think that it's shift+click to select more than one). save the set. then select other brushes to save as a set the same way, and so on.

btw- you can use the preset manager to manage more than just brushes (like your shapes, styles, patterns, etc).

Just wanted to say that the preset manager worked like a dream! You were right Tracey, it is shift click to select more than one. I didn't even realize what the preset manager was... silly me.

I posted an LO that I did using some of my brushes. The brushes are kind of whimsy. The LO needs something, so if you know what I can do to make it better dish it out in the comment section.

Thanks again! -Ali
