weaving ribbon

I have been playing around trying to create my own stuff for pages and decided to try and make a (sort of like a belt)buckle or slider that the ribbon is weaved into. Now that the buckle is done, how do I "weave" in the ribbon? -Ali

The quick and dirty way is to place the ribbon on the layer under the charm. Then copy and paste the bit of ribbon that should go over "buckle" on the layer above the charm. Filter and shadow until you're happy with the look.

I'm sure there are other ways, but hopefully this will get you started.

Cool, didn't think of that! Gonna try it!

By the way love your backgrounds, I joined your group a while back. When do you think you will be posting more? I created a few backgrounds myself and then realized how much they looked like yours. I guess I was inspired and didn't know it! -Ali

It worked and looked great! Can't wait to use it on my next LO. But as always, if anyone knows another way to do it let me know! -Alison

I do the complete opposite -LOL- I put the buckle/slide mount under the ribbon and then delete the sections of ribbon that are supposed to be under the slide. A sating layer style on the ribbons gives a great 3d effect to this technique. I used it here: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...cat=500&page=1
