Question How to remove white backgrounds from a graphic?

Other than carefully cutting out the portion of the picture I want, is there a fairly easy way to change a white background into a transparent one? I am using PSCS2. This is an example of a graphic with a white background. For instance I want Optimus (the robot that is changing into the car) to be against a clear background.

Never mind! Figured it out. The Magic Erase Tool is my new best friend.
Here is where I found the tip (which you all likely already knew ):

I don't know of any (cuz I use PSE3) but I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to use the magic wand and select all the contiguous white and then just add that small portion of white between the 2 trucks. Good luck!
