I guess I do it the hard way...I put the photo under the frame, use the rectangular marquee tool to draw a box on the photo where I want it cropped and then select inverse and delete...make sense? You can use the wand to select the area outside of the frame, then "select inverse", then "ctrl+J" on the photo to make it the right size. This works as long as it isn't a pre-shadowed element. Sometimes I make the photo a little bit smaller than the outside of the frame, but it depends on the layout and the look I want.

Let us know how you make out.

All of the above ideas would work fine. You could also do ctrl+A and ctrl+C to select and copy your photo, then in your layout, use the marquee tool to select the area where you want the photo to go, create a new layer, and then shift+ctrl+V to paste the pic into the area that you selected with your marquee tool. Does that make sense?

So many ways makes photoshop the best... you can use the Place function to import the photo and it is automatically in transform mode.. resize as needed to fit in the frame and then just drag the photo to a lower layer.. easy.. and done.
