Handling Text

Is there a tutorial on handling text in PS?? I'm brand new to PS and scrapping so I'm learning as I go. I've finished two pages using layouts, and on the last one I had quite a few problems putting in a title. Is there a way to get it to automatically center along the horizontal? Is there a way to reduce the spacing between the two lines (which were formed when I hit return)? If I wanted to scoot the entire writing one way or the other, how do I do that?

I finally got a title at the top of the page, but how do I put a bit of writing in the pictures themselves?

Showhow I got it so my mouse buttons wouldn't let me "grab and pull" the various layers around. I couldn't even grab the slider to move up and down the various layers. I still don't have that fixed. Anyone have any ideas of what I might have done???

TIA
Mary

Hi
Ill see if I can help out ..

"Is there a way to get it to automatically center along the horizontal. If I wanted to scoot the entire writing one way or the other, how do I do that? "
Just like in most text programs when you select the text tool you get options across the top. Options should appear for centering, left, right and justify text. Highlight your text and choose the option.

"Is there a way to reduce the spacing between the two lines (which were formed when I hit return)?"
Also on the options bar when text is selected should be a button for the character palette where you can adjust spacing between lines and letters. This tutorial while not specifically what you are looking for does have screenshots of the character palette and options bar. http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...icle_606.shtml

"I finally got a title at the top of the page, but how do I put a bit of writing in the pictures themselves?"
hm not sure what you are asking here. But you should be able to move teh text over the top of the photo

To move a text layer around while the text tool is still chosen you need to hold down CTRL on teh keyboard and then click and drag the text. You can also select the move tool which will allow you to move the text around, and change the layer the text is on by moving it up or down

Thank you!! The tutorial is just what I need. I've learned so much in the past few days from your tutorials, I really appreciate them. I was wondering how I was going to learn PSCS2, but following your tutorials has made it easy and I now have a "basic" (very basic) understanding.

Have you just lost the text tool or the whole tools palette? Try Window> Tools
