Can someone help me figure out how to create a "pinched" ribbon in Photoshop 7.0? I want to have the effect of a charm pulling on a ribbon, but I have no idea how to make it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a simple tutorial that a great scrapper here Amanda posted a while ago (Amanda - I hope you don't mind my posting this):

Create a white rectangle. Do a pattern overlay....satin..scale it way up and the opacity way down. Then with your marquee...select the area of the ribbon where you want it to pinch. Use the distort-pinch filter. I had to do it a couple times at 100% then once at like 43% to get the pinch right. Then I used my dodge and burn tool to add highlights and shadows to the pinched area. .

I just remembered another tutorial that works good. It's made for PSP but can be used in Photoshop also. And it's also for making fabric which is a good basis before you add the pinch filter to make it look like something is "hanging" from it.
