The plugin is a seperate tool than the one in CS3.. it works by identifying color differences between pixels and then neighboring pixels and creating "edges".. these edges are then identified like puzzle pieces which you either color as "keep/mask" (green) or "remove" (red). You can blend these edges to further "feather" the mask and have total control on how edge selections are made. the cool thing is, you can see your mask as you do things and the plugin is very fast.. I used it recently to win a very nice business account by demonstrating how I could quickly create a "green screen" effect for use in a catalog.. Even though I wasn't using the green screen for my sample photo (I will for the contract and will use a dedicated green screen primatte program to do batch extracts), the result was so good that the client thought I had retaken the photo somehow.. In CS3, it would have taken me a good 3-4 x that timeframe to get similar results... Not that I'm pushing this program - it is expensive - but just thought I'd share my results with it... I'm not related in anyway..
