Difficulty of Use??

I have been using DIP since I began digital scrapping over a year ago. I know its not available any longer so I will have to at some point switch to another program. I have an old version of Adobe Elements - I think its Elements 3. I am having a hard time with that ---- I find it much less user friendly than DIP. What is the learning curve to say, CS3 and do you all think CS3 is the way to go?

Thanks

well you may have noticed ive switched to PS completely - have had for i guess a year now - Im using PSCS3. There are a few things you have to get your head around but its worth it and there is plenty of help around.
Id recommend skipping PSE and going straight to Photohsop if its an option. You may as well start as you mean to go on

I've been using PS since the very first versions were offered (I started with a student version in college, maybe 3.0 or something like that). It keeps getting better and better. The only downside is that PS does do "A LOT". Learn the basics and learn more later. I try to work on other programs now and find them not user friendly. I believe it is what you are use to! Good luck!

Thanks guys! I think I'll make the switch when I get my new laptop. Not sure my desktop has enough memory to run PS. It bogs down under DIP! LOL In the meantime maybe hubby will let me practice on his computer. He has a quad processor with CS3 Suite on it!

I think cs3 will have a higher learning curve than pse, but it is way more powerful. But... Ask away in the forums for either program, and we all can chime in to make your transition easier. Sometimes, once you figure out the basics, then any of the programs become a joy to explore.

Also, don't forget to check out SBB's ezine. There are some really special tutorials in the ezine. Here's the one I did for PSE for December:

December is not yet on store shelves. But there some really good tuts in the previous months too (not to mention the great articles and downloads)!

Thanks! I will probably be screaming HELP many times before mastering it! I really want to as I have a Wacom tablet and it doesn't intergrate with DIP but will with PS or PSE. I opened PSE3 and it looks sooooo daunting to me. Can't even figure out how to make a basic page

Hi and thank you so much. I am not on Hello - used to be but not any longer. I am not quite ready yet to tackle PS or PSE. Have a scrapbook to do for a friend who lost her dog last week first. This dog was her baby as she has no children. Must do it in what I know best which is DIP. Maybe after the holidays I'll get serious and tackle PSE. I'll be calling on you for sure!
