Hi-res brushes? Issue?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if you can help at all. I'm looking for some lovely free photoshop (or PSP since same file type) brushes. I have a lovely of really lovely brushes but they're only web resolution.

I had an acquaintance on a different forum that uses paint shop pro and has been using the standard PSP tubes in her layouts at 300dpi and saying that when printing it's coming out fine. That has confused me as the tubes are web resolution. She knows about resolution and that and has printed at 8x8" and said it was fine.

Where do I find free scrapbook brushes etc? I'm looking for some nice large floral ones which I can put over the papers to add same jazz etc.

Help me get my head around it please

Lisa

The brushes in there are not that large but useful for web design and font styling.

Well I think that photoshop (I don't usually use big boy PSCS2) limits the size of the brushes to 2500 pixels. But I have used brushes many times on LOs and they look fine, but they are brushes not images so they do have that "brushy" look to them. Does that make sense? But they do add a great pizazz to a LO and they do print just fine despite being "web design". The best gauge is to see what size they come up with initially as a brush. If they come up tiny (100 pixels or less) they are not going to look good big on a page, but if they come up fairly large (ex. 400 pixels) then they look great even if you "up" them a little and make them bigger. So don't pass up the free PS brushes and just get playing!

And thanks for the brush site Pesto, I am always looking for more and those look so pretty!

Yes brushes vary in size so the results vary.
You can try my tutorial here on enlarging brushes which may help: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...icle_674.shtml

Ooops.. missed that.. but sp stated.. the size of the brush is kinda dependent on what you will use it for.. if the brush is to be used as an abstract.. then the size won't matter as much and it will work just fine. Good Luck!
