How to cut paper into a curve shape?

Can anyone direct me to a tutorial on how to cut paper into a wave shape? Or give me a quickie tut here? I'd really appreciate it. I use CS2. I was trying to use the pen tool to make a path but then I couldn't get rid of the anchor points. I dunno. I figure there must be some simple way to do this...

Thanks,
Laura

You can use the pen tool to make the path or draw one freehand if you are smooth enough. You need to make sure you finish the shape back at your strting point, so draw the curve along the width and then down and around the rest of the paper and back to the starting point.
Then go to the the Path palette and choose the make a new workpath icon and then right click on the workpath and choose make a selection,
Then you can switch back to the layers palette and fill the shape to make it solid, creating a template.
Let me knwo if you need more info

Check out this tutorial here.. it kinda explains how to do what you want but uses a text example instead of just a selection (which you then delete)... hope it helps.

Another way to make a smooth curve is to use the Shear Filter under Distort. Draw a rectangle (tall) with the marquee tool. Fill with a color. Go to Distort>Shear. Pull and push the little black handles and make a curve or many. When you click okay, you can turn the shape any way you want. If you want to put a paper on the curve, do it after you make the curve. That way it won't get distorted.
