How can I change the color in a part of a piece of clip art?
I would like to change the color of a dress or skin tone.

or select the desired part with the las,so tool then copy and paste that part of the photo onto a new layer. then do layer, new adjustment layer and try color balance or hue/saturation. Ü

Thanks so much to all that replied to my question. Yes Amanda there are so many ways to do one thing in PS. I have tried all of the ways suggested but am having difficulty in changing a specific area. I will continue to experiment. This group is amazing. Thanks again to all.

if you can handle...

another way, here goes.

Open your clipart, use the L***o tool and outline your selection. Go to Image > Adjust > And choose Hue/Saturation, then on the right, check the box that says colorize. I use this also for my b & w photos I want to colorize. But works fine for already colored photos.

But make sure you make your selection first with the L***o tool or you will be 're-coloring' the whole item.

Hope that Helps
