I've been playing with it for about an hour and it is fantastic! The new layers pallets are phenomenal!

and the shadow adjustment is terrific.

How much $$$ is the upgrade? Worth switching from 7?

I upgraded from 5.5 to 7 this last time, and that was SOOOOooooo worth it! Just wondering if I should skip this version...

it was about $165 from amazon. and it my humble opinion, it is worth that much just for the improved filters. You can see much more clearly what's happening to your image as you adjust sliders.

I haven't played with the new shadows adjustment too much, but it looks like it will be an invaluable tool in my photo restorations.
