NEED HELP BADLY! FONT SIZE PROBLEM IN CS

I can't scrap!!!! When I enter my font size it shows up about an 18th of the actual size it should be. For example, I use 24pt alot, 24 point is showing up looking like 2. I can't free transform the text layer because it looks distorted and I would have to transform it to over 200...I've tried everything I can think of to fix this and nothing has worked. It is doing this on ALL my fonts. I can't scrap because I can't journal. I have PS CS. Has anyone ever had this problem? I would appreciate any help or insight. TIA!

Only thing I can think of is that the scaling isn't at 100%? Check the character palette (top menu under window/ left click character) to make sure vertical and horizontal scale is at 100%.

Did you accidentally have your subscript/superscript clicked in the character pallette?

Double check your canvas size maybe?

Still no luck....The scaling is at 100%, my canvas size is fine, the only thing I haven't done was uninstall and reinstall the entire program but I really don't want to do that.Thank you for all your suggestions.

Instead of free transform, assume you went to the T icon, clicked on the words, hightlighted them and then just changed the font size. If that didn't work, I'd just save, close out of PS, and reset your defaults when you open it up.(Crtl-Alt-Shift). Sometimes it just acts goofy. I haven't had the font thing happen to be, but there have been other stuff. Good luck.
