PSCS2

Hi guys,

I'm currently running PSCS2 and I tried to make text following a path last night, but every time I went to type the text along the path PS would totally shut down. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to fix it?

Help,
Renee

Maybe it has something to do w/your computer? With my old laptop (18GB HD total, usually around 2-3GB free) it was a pain and would shut down if I tried to change the font specifications of the pre-made ones from Atomic Cupcake. I've since gotten a new laptop and no problems ever since. I don't use AC's, but do my own text paths and paths all the time.

sounds like a memory issue- usually for PSCS at least 1 gig of RAM keeps things running decent. I used to have that problem with some filters- I could do a load of wash in the time it took to run certain filters or it would just freeze *sigh*- that was when I had just 512 meg.

Thanks girls for your replies. I'm trying to make my own path too...space can't be the problem because I have a new laptop and I have loads of space free. It's soooo frustrating!

Typing on Path causes problem

I have this problem too using PSCS on a desktop that has 2gb of ram, and 200gb HD. I just bought a new laptop, fully loaded, and it has the same problem. I use Adobe Illustrator to type on path, and it runs like a dream. I've decided it is a problem with PSCS but have no idea what to do about it either. VERY frustrating though when I want something really simple and it just crawwwwlllls. I get so frustrated, I walk away or say forget it. Sorry I'm not more help other than to commiserate with you

hmmm- I too have PSCS and I have no problem with text on a path.

is your scratch disk on the same drive as photoshop?
if so, try moving it to a different drive (if you have one):
Edit>Preferences>Plug-Ins & Scratch Disks
and set the one that says "First" to a drive other than where photoshop is (if it says startup- that's where photoshop is)
