What version of PS do you have. I had version 7 I believe and it would not save anything as a png file, even though it seemed to say it would. You might send the PSD file to someone that has CS or CS2 and they can save it as a PNG file and return it to you.

Can you save it as a transparent TIF file? This file format can be used on PCs and Macs, so it should work if he is getting it printed up professionally. I will still be a rather large file (a bit larger than a PSD file), but might get you to a stage where your design can be used. PM me if you need any help since I am online most of the day.

Png format can only handle grayscale and RGB images and no alpha channels. Does your file contain any alpha channels or is the mode CMYK ? After that I'm stumped.

Good morning Colleen and arti,
Thank you for your help.
I tried to save the project in transparent tif format and thank your clue it worked perfectly in Photoshop CS2. The document is and RGB in 8 bit but i couldn't absolutely save it in png only if the project is scaled to a quarter of its size. BTW, i wanted it saved in transparent file and got it in tif. When i have more time i will try to see where the problem might have been and solve it for further needs and post the results here.

Thank you very much and happy eastern to all scrapbookbyters
