What would make the save option dissappear?

I have a friend who for some reason no longer has the option to Save or Save As her edited photos. I cant physically see her computer so I am at a total loss - anyone run into an issue like that before?

Well here is advise from a non-PS user, I don't believe that PS has the ability to delay menu animation like PSP has so it can't be that.
What if she went to top menu: Window>Arrange Workspace> Reset Menus?

Just a shot in the dark....

OR how about Keyboard Shortcuts/ Menus and on the menu tab select the Application menu scroll down to see if somehow the visiablity of the Save and Save As got turned off?

OR go to File>Show all menu items???

Just guessing here!! I don't know what you might have possibly told her to check for yet....

What happens when she clicks 'Control + S'? Could that be a way around it, maybe?

OMG that has to be frustrating! I have never run into that myself. Once I couldn't save my LO in jpeg because I was using 16 bit color but it allowed me to save as other formats. Please let us know if you found out anything!

This happens to me sometimes, and it seems to be a function of which tool I have selected at the time I'm trying to save. Makes no sense, but if I click on the "move tool" or some other tool, and try again, the "save" function is available again. For some reason, I think sometimes when I have the Text tool selected, it doesn't let me save. Probably not what's wrong here, but worth a shot?

I have had that problem when editing photos using the move tool...just click again on the move too to apply the transformation...select yes to apply transformation and the save option should be available.
