Creating a 5 x 30 canvas

I would like to try to create one of those long rectangular 5 x 30 prints and have it printed at whcc.com.

Has anybody done this before? What size do you think works best for the pictures? How do you ensure that all of your pics are sized the same?

And, how do you work on such a big canvas in PSCS - do you work on it at print size? My view is usually "fit on screen" but it's so small on my screen that I can't really see what I'm doing. But if I change to "print size", then I'm constantly scrolling up/down to ensure that my pictures are aligned correctly.

Just wondering if there's an easier method that I'm overlooking.

Thanks for any info!

I just love your posts Andy, never know what you're coming up with and it's always great.

Haven't tried this, so would like to know how it works for you.

But, I can share what a graphics artist shared with me when I was doing research for a potential project - billboard or all things. I asked how to design it in PS and he said what I needed to do is just created the image space to the same dimensions as the finished project. I laughed when he told me this given I'm used to 8x10, 12x12 etc, but he said that is exactly how the pros do it.

So in your case 5x30.

Let me know how it all comes out.
