Well, if the customisable user interface gives it anything approximating what PSP has had for quite some time, I will be forking out for the upgrade even though I just bought CS a few months ago.

What exactly does the "customisable" interface allow you to do? I just bought PSCS about a year ago and am weighing whether or not I should upgrade...

No clue as of yet. In PSP, you can fully tweak and even create toolbars (much like you can in Word and other programs). So, for example, I would create a toolbar with my favourite stuff on it such as resize, desaturate, colourise. I am sure that power users would pooh pooh this and claim that you can get there pretty darn fast using shortcut keys and I know that some people really like them. I don't. I prefer never to have to take my hand off my mouse or pen and that means wading through menus. It becomes a one click process. I used to have quite a few different specialised toolbars in PSP--one for photo adjusting, one for scrapbooking etcetera. You could even drag stuff onto a window frame if you wanted. So, in my PSP layer's palette I had icons to select all, inverse selection etcetera. Just made my work flow flow for me. Point is that everyone is different. PSP let that difference dictate your workspace. PS doesn't accomodate it at all.

Do we know when it will appear? My boss said that I could have the company buy CS for me, but if it's soon, I'll continue with my old-beat-up 7.
