Okay, yes, yet another question from a newbie How do you thread charms, buckles etc? I tried erasing the area that the buckle covers, but then it looks too flat.

Well that's basically how to do it. Either erase the bit of ribbon that is supposed to go behind the buckle and have the ribbon layer higher than the buckle layer or visa versa - erase the part of the buckle that goes behind the ribbon and have the buckle layer higher. I usually do the second option just out of personal preference. Then I add some manual shadowing on a new layer in between - really makes the difference on the realistic look. If you look at my sample in the newsletter, you can get the idea. I have a free download in there with the buckle on the ribbon and that's the method I used. Hope this helps!
