Question dotted circles??

Ok so I'm using photoshop and I'm using the circle marquee tool and then the brush to make the dotted circles....but it takes so long! It seems like there should be an easier way to make it prefectly spaced and do it quicker. Anyone have any insight for me???

If you're doing lots of dotted circles, I'd make one the way you like it, and then turn it into a brush. That way you can just stamp 'em on where you want them.

You could create a circle with the marquee tool, turn that into a path and stroke the path with a round brush. Just set the brush to what you want it to look like in the brush palette.

I did this but my circle using the marquee too IS NOT perfect... I hold down the shift key when drawing out my circle.... and get the marching ants, etc.... create my path and then stroke it and it's not perfectly round... any advice?

Instead of using the marquee tool, use the ellipse tool to create the path. Make sure it is set to Paths (the square with the pen in it) in the options bar at the top. Once you've created the path, then you can stroke it with a brush.

This is just too cool! I've never tried to make this, but reading the method made me try it and it's so neat! Thanks so much to everyone who gave suggestions!

Amy...I found (through a little trial and much error) that my perfect circles with the Shift key (whether using the marquee or the elipse tools) would sometimes lose their shape when I was done drawing. The answer seems to be to release the shift key BEFORE you release the mouse button.

And I recently discovered (you probably already knew this though) that if I hold down my space bar BEFORE releasing the mouse button I can move my circle around on the page.

PAttie and Amy! And this seems to be even more the case with PSCS2 - You have to really take care with it.

To do my dots on a path, I use the elipse tool witht he paths option selected, and then select the Text Tool, click on the line and press the period key continuously. Font selected will change the type of dots created
