How to resize multiple items at once?

Hi,

I was trying to shrink down some individual letters but I want them all the same size. Every time I look at them I notice that one or two are slightly bigger or smaller than the others and it bugs me! LOL!

I am opening the letters in their own windows, then dragging them into my layout one by one. Is there a way to size them all at once after I get them on there? Or a way to apply the same size to them all once I get one done? I've just been using free-transform but maybe that's not the 'cleanest' way to do it.

Oh, and I use PSCS.

Thanks for any help!!

If you shift-click them, and make the link symbol appear in the layers palette, then free-transform should apply to all of them.

At least that's how it works in PSE...

Also you could set guides to the size you want, turn on snap-to-guides, and transform them into the guides.

Oh, and you could batch process the letters to the new size and save to a new folder. Again, not sure if PSCS has batch processing but I imagine it has to have something along those lines.

i use ps7 and what works best for me is after i drag all the letters over to my project, i then link the layers and free transform. it does all the linked layers at once. then i just unlink and proceed as usual!

i am fascinated by all the millions of different ways to accomplish things in photoshop...

batch resizing in PS

exactly ashsky....

in another thread, someone asked if learning Photoshop was worth the effort, a thread like this shows just why it IS worth the effort. There is no ONE RIGHT WAY to accomplish what you want in Photoshop, its the subtle nuances and little, sometinmes accidental, discoveries that make Photoshop the gold standard of graphics apps.

Thanks for asking!

You took the words right out of my mouth! I used to use PSP on a piece of &*%$ Pentium years ago to do web design, and converting that limited knowledge to my *awesome* mac and PSE has been a learning experience to say the least. There are so many things that I sit here and go.. "ok, so I know I am SUPPOSED to be able to do this, but HOW?"

Thanks for the help everyone!

Billie
