Unhappy Can't figure this one out

PSE does not have a path for the brush to follow(at least I can't find it). I want to make perfect circles using my specialty brushes. I don't have a sturdy enough hand to make a circle and trace around it. Does anyone know of another way to do this?

Thanks,
Julie

I had a similar problem when I wanted to stitch in a straight line. Here's what I've learned to do. I get a selection that's real thin where I want my stitching to be. Then I run that square spaced out brush along where I want it. It's bigger than the line of selection so it works really well.

From there I figured out that for circles and other shapes I can create two or three of them. Now how do I make this make sense.

I'll make two circles. One of them I'll make slightly smaller. Then I use the magic wand to select the space between two circles. To do this, if I'm on the layer for larger circle, I click on it with the magic wand. I change my selction tools in the toolbar to subtract from selection. Then I go the layer with the smaller circle. I click the magic wand on it. This give me the space between them where I can use the brush to do whatever.

Wow, Amy - good thinking! There's always a way do what you want to do, sometimes you just have to be creative!

Julie, no, PSE does not have Paths. I can't think of a better way do it than what Amy suggested. But I'll keep thinking!

Talking Thanks

Thanks, Amy, for the suggestion. I'm going to have to print your instructions so I can follow them to the letter. I hope it works. I'll let you know if I'm successful or not with this one. I have been searching all my (and I have a bunch) PSE effect books and the web and no one seems to be able to have an answer for this.

Amy,What a great way to tackle this issue!

Another way to create straight horizontal and vertical stitching lines is to hold down the shift key while you're drawing with a spaced out square brush.

Love all the different ways to do the same thing!

OHHH Stacey, I'm gonna have to try that out this evening. I know my method is pretty crude but I can't sew straight either on a sewing machine or scrapping. I've been looking forward to hearing everyone elses instructions.
