How 2 Scan a Background to use in 12 x 12 LO

Of course, my scanner isn't 12 x 12, but if I scan a background to use as a 12 x12, are there some suggestions/tips?

I can see where it wouldn't be too much of a problem if the background was just a mottled textured, look, but what if it is something like a 'flag' or something where you almost need the whole thing?

Do you scan half and half and try to put it together in PSE? (Which I have no clue how to do...just move the two halves together??)

Help?

Talking

Here is what I do....

Scan side right
Scan side left

Open ps or whatever program you are using and start a new image at 15 inches x 15 inches at 300 dpi.

Then I open both of the scans done above.

Paste both sides into your new document (15x15 document) as new layers.

Adjust them over each other until they match up

Then with my selection tool I remove the portion where the edges met as usually it's a bit off in color (darker) b/c of the overlap when scanning... and that is it

Also just noticed you are using PSE which I'm not sure how to in that but you should be able to adapt that to your program.

sorry - you would crop it down after you are finished... I like the extra room to play with it
