sure change the brush size in the toolbar

it should be at the top... if you don't see it
Make sure the option toolbar is checked: >Window>Options

Thanks so much Denis for the visual it really helped. I have Photoshop Elements 1 (I believe) and the Size option is not available. Looks like it is time to upgrade.
