I recently purchased photoshop elements, I don't know the program at all. I was looking for tutorials for this program and noticed that the only tutorials are for photoshop. Do these tutorials apply for elements also or is the program completely different from photoshop?

Elements is a scaled down version of Photoshop. It has alot of the functionality of PS but at a fraction of the price. As you might expect Elements doesn't have all the capability of PS, but you should be able to do most of thee tutorials on this site. For other tutorials using ELements you might want to do a search with google or similar. You could even pay Adobe.com a visit to find out exactly what features you are missing.

many times a lot of tutorials for PSP or other programs also work with PSElements. They seem to have a lot of the same type of functionality. good luck and have fun exploring your new program!

You might want to do a search at about.com on photoshop elements tutorials. They have quite a few. Plus a lot of free stuff you can download.
