Photoshop or Gimp

Which do you think is easier to design with?

Photoshop, probably just really used to it and I couldn't switch to Gimp.

I'd say there are much more resources out there for Photoshop than Gimp. So yep Photoshop for me.

I think they both have their good points but I definitely prefer Photoshop to any other design program. Unless we're talking doodles then it's Illustrator hands down.

Well.. one is Free and one cost over $500... so this really isn't a fair comparison. Most users agree that The Gimp is great given it's price.. for me, I couldn't get used to the interface and the install left a few things to be desired when I tried it.

Photoshop is the best of the best... few programs come close to its universal appeal to professionals and the shear amount of plugins/support for it.. it is without a doubt one of the best.

Well.. while I agree.. it is hard to really make a fair comparison of the 2 programs.. one is free and one is very expensive. For a free program, gimp is pretty good.. I just don't like the UI and tool layout.. I find there are other free paint programs out there that are better.. and many shareware programs that easily beat out Gimp...

But.. if money is no object... you would be hard pressed to beat photoshop as an all around best tool for photographers, digital scrappers and graphic designers.

I have to put in a quick shout out for the GIMP. I use it and I love it. Most photoshop stuff can be easily converted and since it's free and user developed I don't feel like I'm pimping myself out to the MAN.
