I have 2 duplicate list of brushes.......

Oh, woe is me........ I have a problem..... I am using PSE4 on a Mac. I did a not-too-bright-thing. I always install my brushes via the PSE app- just drag the new one in the Presets folder in Brushes. Well, one day I thought I'd Load my brushes when I was in PSE. I thought (wrongly obviously) that maybe there were some brushes that didn't get loaded for whatever reason. Well, now I have two lists of brushes- both the same. How do I delete the duplicate list? It only shows up when I am in PSE- the duplicate list is not in my Applications folder--->Adobe Photoshop Elements 4--->Presets--->
Brushes.......... And my second question is, how do I go about grouping brushes so that they are organized somewhat- all the frame brushes in a folder, etc.? Thanks for any help, Judy

Don't know if this will work, but how about restoring the default settings.

I am wondering if I try that, then my purchased brushes will be deleted?

Is it possible to make a backup folder with your purchased brushes in it so incase you do loose them in the program you still have them on your computer?

I usually keep all my purchased and downloaded brushes in a backup folder or on a CD or EHD.

Thsi is why I never load my brushes in my default folder - keep them in a separate folder on teh hard drive and just point to it
Make sure you save all your brushes elsewhere before you go back to the default settinsg or you will lose them.

I would like to know more about Judy's other question-can you put brushes in folders. I would love to put all like brushes together in a folder then I could search more accurately when I need a specific brush. I keep my brushes on my EHD.

Sure can Debbie
I have a folder named Brushes under a Photoshop folder in My Documents. In that folder I have two folders Commercial use and Personal Use
and then in each of those folders I have subsets - grunge, flourishes etc etc
