Help! PSE5

I am trying to do a layout from the inspiration from the impromptu chat tonight, and I really like how the pictures are lined up and then have a wavy curve on the bottom...but I can't for the life of me figure out how to accomplish this. Do I need to find and get a template to use or can I somehow do this on my own? Thanks for your help. And in case you have no idea what I mean, here is the link to the picture...

For that specific sample, I would create a new layer and use the lasso to draw a shape with a wave (and three straight sides), and then fill it with the paint bucket. There are templates you can buy for shapes like that, but it is so easy to create them too. Good luck with the layout!

I often use the Liquify filter to make curvy template pieces. Make a rectangle - size would be dependent on how large you want the curve piece to be. Then go to Filter>Distort>Liquify. You will want a pretty large brush size. Then push down or up in different spots to get the look you want. Lots of fun to play with! This would also work if you would like to give a subtle bend or wave to a ribbon or line of stitching. Have fun.

it's easy to create a wave like that --

create a new layer with a rectangle shape -- it needs to be vertical on the page (you can change it later)

now go to filter->distort->shear
when you see the little thumbnail with the vertical line in it, you can click on the line to add wave points - drag them left or right to create the wave shape you want.

turn your template 90 degrees and you can use it

Thanks Cybermom. Your technique will probably give a much smoother look than what I sometimes get with the Liquify filter. Keep those slick tricks coming!

Cybermom, I love that tip!! Thank you. This way makes a much smoother curve than me using paths or trying to draw one.
