Question PSE4 - wrap text around something?

I hope I can describe this well...

I'm trying to find out if there's an easy way to create a text box with text inside (well, Heather, what ELSE would be in there, the cat??). Then I want to place another object in another layer in the center of where the text box is, and have the text wrap around that item.

For example, if I wanted to do a page that was all journaling with a photo dead center.

Can you do this?? I mean, I know how to do it without a problem in Word or Publisher, I figure there *must* be a way in PSE, right?? It's so tedious to do it manually, I gave up when I was trying.

sadly, i don't think you'll be able to create this in pse. pse can not create text paths. But, if the text path is created in photoshop, pse can use them. hth

Stop trying... PSE can't do it. :-(

Best bet is to get a sketch or template with text in the shape that you want and import that layer in...

Is *that* what the "text on path" thing people talk about as a major benefit of PSE5 over PSE4? I just thought it was being able to write text in patterns like around the outside of a circle! Well, at least now I don't feel so bad I couldn't figure out how to do it!

Could you do it the slow, tedious way? Make your text area. Center the photo where you want it and then go back and edit the text with spaces and returns so it looks like the text was wrapped around? Know you were probably wanting a quick fix but seems like this would work if it's acertainlook you are hoping to achieve. Haven't tried this myself but in my mind (oh, that's a dangerous place to go) it seems like it could be done.

I have PSE5 and you can't do the text on a path...
Also, at Atomic cupcake, they have some free text paths.... you just have to look for them.

Rde- That's how I was doing it, but then I realized I'd made a typo (actually left a word out, I type too fast sometimes) in the first section, which basically meant I had to redo the entire thing. I gave up and just did a straight text box! But if you're careful with your typing, it does work. (If I'm journaling more than a paragraph, I generally do it in Word first, since I find that easier to proof - plus there's the handy spell checker built in! And this is why.)

unfortunately, you can only create text paths with PSCS2....one of the reasons why i bought it!

OR you can get the FREE pre-made text path from atomic cupcake, but it is only good in PSE 3.0 (& I think PSE 5.0)

this is why I stopped using 4.0 (I have every PSE version LOL )...
