Red face Help!! with image size in PSE 5

I have been using PSE 3 for ages and am finally comfortable with it. I just switched to PSE 5 and am having trouble with image size. I create a new blank document in the size I want(usually 8X10). When I drag a paper that is 12X12 onto it, the 12X12 paper is much smaller than the 8X10!! Why does this happen, what am I missing. I've checked that I'm working in inches in both cases, resampler is unchecked, resolution is 300 in both cases. I finally realized my problem yesterday when I tried to convert a pic to upload to the gallery. It was HUGE-like 33 inches!! PSE5 doesn't allow you to resize for the web the same way PSE 3 did either-you can't adjust the pixel size in the image size window. Or am I totally missing something!?? Thanks for your help.

Terry, I just went back and tried a new layout double-checking your suggestion. It worked!! Somewhere in my previous layout (one that I spent hrs on, of course) I got the two mixed up. I tried to resize it and it doesn't seem to work, when I make them the same-inches that is- it's either 22 inches or 700+resolution!! Live and learn-and thanks for your help!!

I never learned how to use PSE resize for web menu until version 5. I usually flatten the image, change the resolution to 72 and then choose the Save for Web option. There I change the image dimension size and quality. Works pretty slick once I took the time to fiqure it out.
