A Great Newsletter for PSE

I posted this link not too long ago at computer-scrapping for PSE users. Richard Lynch is an author of PS and PSE books. He has found a way to use actions and will even make them for you. His website and forum is full of information on PSE that I haven't seen anywhere else. You do not have to buy his book – he does have some freebies. The main thing he's trying to do is enable PSE users to be able to do a lot of the PS7 things that are not included in PSE. His newsletter is VERY informative.

Thanks for the link. I just installed PSE and have played with it a little bit and found that I have a lot to learn. I have been using DIP 7 and 9 and am so comfortable with them that it is difficult to switch over. Are there many PSE users out there??? I am sure that I will be needing help. TIA!

I'd be glad to help out with questions! I know a little about Elements and Hidden Power.

Oh, my gosh. This looks great! Thanks Sandi and Richard. I had demoed PSE last summer, but ended up buying DIP, which I like, but recently I'd been thinking that maybe I need PSE too, for the brushes and things not available in DIP.

Of course what I really want is PS, but until I hit the Powerball jackpot, I'm not really in a position to spend that kind of money on software for my hobby.

After looking around Richard's web-site, I've definitely got PSE and Richard's book on my shopping list. One of the things I couldn't believe they had left out of PSE was aligning multiple layers. In fact, it's probably what swung me to DIP. If I understand correctly, that's one of the actions included with the book.

*almost dancing with excitement and heading back the the website for more details*

Janet,

If you find other things that you want in Elements, I have had a lot of success adding things. I have align on center in the book's tools, and can easily add align right, left, bottom and top.

If you have my book and tools, I'd be very curious as to what you need PS for...I might have a solution for most things you think you need.

Hi, Richard. Thanks for the reply.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, and maybe I wasn't totally clear.

I used to think I needed PS -- and now I'm thinking that with your book and tools I'll have a lot of the pieces of PS that are missing from PSE. At least a lot of the ones that a non-professional like me could use.

Hence, my excitement.

Photoshop Elements

What a surprise to see you here! I don't know if you remember me but probably around March you answered a question I had regarding PSE on about.com. We emailed back and forth a few times and I told you a little about computer scrapping. I only used PSE for a couple of months because I received PS7 as a gift but I do like PSE.

I've been trying to get the word out to PSE users ever since to tell about all the things you've made available to make it more powerful.

There are many people that would love to have PS but cannot afford it. We are getting more and more questions about PSE especially from the new members that are trying to decide what software to buy. But it always gets back to the things it can't do that you really would like to have for computer scrapping.

Since I didn't use it that long I'm going to see if Amanda will tell you what she couldn't do with it regarding computer scrapping. She used PSE but now uses PS7.

It's nice running into you again you were very helpful.
