Question resizing photos

Hi - I feel like I have one question after another. Here's my latest...
I cropped a photo I wanted to use in a layout to a specific size (3X3). However, when I drag it onto my layout, it doesn't stay 3x3 - it comes over more like 4.5x4.5. Is there a reason for this? Am I doing this wrong? Thanks for any help in advance!

Did you save the cropped photo as a different name? If so, then it should be working correctly. How are you saving your photo? Are you making sure you click the check mark in the tool barfirst? I will try and help if you need anything else. I hope this helps!

Make sure your dpi's are the same for the picture and the LO you are putting it on. It sounds like that is what is happening. When you selected the size 3x3 you can also put in the dpi there and then when you crop it it should be right when you drag it onto your LO. You can double check to see before you put it on the LO by going into the Image/resize/imagesize box and checking the pixels (3x3 at 300dpi is 900x900), then if it is more than that you can just change the pixels there. Then when you drag it over it will be right on 3x3. If you do 200 dpi then it would be 600x600, etc, depending on your FINAL dpi that you want your LO to be.

Clear as mud?!!
