Crosshairs instead of actual tool or brush outline ???

Hi! I hope someone can help me. Something is driving me batty and I hope there is a fix for it. Under Preferences>Displays and Cursors I have selected for the Painting Cursors "Brush Size" and for the Other Cursors I have selected "Standard" Needless to say this works well the majority of the time but sometimes instead of the preferences I have selected, PSE will all of the sudden display only the "Precise" options of these tools so that I start to see only the little crosshairs for the tool in use or the brush in use. To me that is worthless for the actual placement of what I am trying to do.

I don't know why this happens all of the sudden, but it drives me batty. It seems to happen all on its own without me changing my preferences and it seems to happen more in recent weeks. I don't think I am clicking anything to make this change, but who knows?! Anyone have any ideas on why this seems to happens?

Thanks for any input!

Wow, Leslie, you are awesome!!! That fixed the problem immediately. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had a hunch that it had to be something that I was doing but I could not figure it out for the life of me. There are so many smart people here! BTW, did I say thank you?

You're very welcome. I'm thrilled that you think I'm smart, lol. I had to figure it out when the same thing kept happening to me!

I think the Crosshairs Issue is a rite of passage that all of us go through....

The only reason I didn't post an answer to this question is that someone else already had.

Been there. Done that.

if you go to Help then on the main index screen is a Keyboard Shortcuts listing. Lots of fun tidbits on there! I LOVE learning a new kb shortcut!
